About DuneCrawl on Android: Release Date, Price & What We Know
DuneCrawl on Android: Release Date, Co-op Details and What Is Still Unknown
DuneCrawl is not available for Android yet. Developer Alientrap has announced an Android release for October 19, 2026, alongside PS5 and Xbox Series versions, and pre-registration has been open on Google Play since late September. The game itself, an open-world action adventure where up to four players ride a giant Crab Crawler across a desert sea, has been on PC through Steam since January 5, 2026.
This guide separates what is confirmed from what is not. The Android price, controls and device requirements had not been published in any source I found. Details were checked on October 15, 2026, four days before the announced launch, so read the Google Play listing again on release day.

When does DuneCrawl come out on Android?
Gematsu reported on October 5, 2026 that DuneCrawl launches on PS5, Xbox Series and Android on October 19, with Switch 2 and Switch versions later in the year. Other outlets repeated the date. The earlier pre-registration announcement, reported by Pocket Gamer and Gaming on Phone in late September, gave no date.
I could not find a launch time or a list of countries, so the game may appear at different moments depending on your region. The Google Play listing shows an update dated September 23, 2026 and does not say whether the game is yet installable.
What is DuneCrawl?
You and up to three friends travel the "sandy seas" on a giant Crab Crawler, fighting the jar-headed Vassals, wild bugs and island fortresses to help a group called the Polloi resist an invasion. The announcement text describes these main features:
- Co-op or solo. Up to four players locally or online, or one player with a ghostly companion.
- Open-world exploration. You pilot the Crawler between dozens of islands to complete quests, enter dungeons and collect loot.
- Upgrades. New abilities come from Masks, Tunics and Talismans, and weapons such as the Buzzooka and Acid Harpoon are unlockable. The Crawler can be upgraded with armored legs and guided torpedoes, or simply given a new hat and paint job.
- Crawler combat. Crews man cannons, repair damaged legs and take the helm to fight other Crawlers, bosses and fortresses, with boarding actions.
- Bug riding. Players can ride multi-saddle Beetles, Nymphs, Scorpions and Ball Bugs.
- On-foot action. Hand weapons and items, including Bomb Flowers, Beehives and Spider Eggs.
These are the developer's descriptions, and I have not played the game.
What do we know about the Android version?
Very little beyond the date and platform. None of the sources I read describes touch controls, performance targets, offline play, cross-play with PC or console, or whether it is a premium or free-to-play release. Don't assume any of those from the PC version.
The Google Play page does show a content rating of 7+ and a Data safety section. As declared by the developer, the app may collect personal information and app activity, may share personal information with third parties, encrypts data in transit, and does not allow data deletion. That is a developer declaration and could change before launch, so read the final Data safety page before installing.
What the PC version suggests (and what it cannot tell you)
The Steam release is the only version people have actually played. Its Steam score is "Mostly Positive," with 74 percent of 579 reviews positive when I checked. One reviewer at TheSixthAxis gave the PC version 6 out of 10, calling it interesting but uneven. He praised co-op and the crab concept and found the crab combat and standard on-foot fighting underwhelming.
An automated summary of early Steam reviews, written in January, lists common complaints about solo play, clunky controls, crashes and trouble joining online lobbies, with co-op as the main strength. Those reports are about the PC launch. A phone port may differ, so treat them as context rather than a prediction.
How to pre-register or get ready
- Open the DuneCrawl listing on Google Play on your Android device.
- Check the developer is Alientrap Games Inc and the web address contains
id=com.Alientrap.DuneCrawl. - If the page shows a pre-registration button, use it. I could not see the button's state in the page text I read.
- On launch day, reopen the listing and read the price, size, Android requirement and Data safety before installing.
If you plan to play with friends, ask them which platform they will use. I found no confirmation of cross-play between Android and other versions.
Beware of early APKs and "mobile" shortcuts
Before an official release, any site offering a DuneCrawl APK is offering a file that cannot be the developer's finished Android game. This guide did not verify any such file, and a file name cannot prove who built a file. Wait for the Google Play listing, and do not turn off Google Play Protect to install anything.
Some pages instead describe streaming the PC game to a phone through a remote-desktop app. That is a different product from the Android release and requires a PC that owns the game.
Who is DuneCrawl likely to suit?
It may suit you if you want a silly, chaotic game to play with up to three friends, and you do not mind that the best-reviewed part of the PC version is co-op.
You may want to wait for reviews if you plan to play alone, since PC reviewers were more critical of solo play, or if you want to know the Android price and controls first. More titles are listed in the Games section of this site.
Frequently asked questions
Is DuneCrawl available on Android now?
Not as of October 15, 2026. An October 19 Android launch has been announced and pre-registration is open on Google Play.
How much will DuneCrawl cost on Android?
No Android price was found in any source I read. The PC version costs $19.99 on Steam, but the mobile price may differ.
Can I play DuneCrawl solo?
Yes. The game supports solo play with a ghostly companion, according to the announcement text. PC reviewers had mixed views on how well solo play works.
Does it support cross-play?
I found no confirmation. The sources I read do not mention cross-play between Android and PC or consoles.
What Android version and hardware does it need?
This had not been published in the sources I read. The Google Play listing should show whether your device is compatible once the game is live.
Does DuneCrawl work offline?
The PC version offers local and online co-op and solo play. Nothing I read says how the Android version handles offline play, so check the listing at launch.
Who makes DuneCrawl?
Alientrap, which developed and published the PC version according to Steam. Google Play lists the developer as Alientrap Games Inc.
Is it safe to download an APK before launch?
This guide does not recommend it. Wait for the Google Play listing.
Bottom line
DuneCrawl reaches Android on October 19, 2026, but price, controls and requirements are still unannounced. Pre-register if the co-op crab adventure appeals, then check the Play listing on launch day before you spend money.
